Utilize these ice breaker topics in your upper elementary or middle school classroom either as a beginning of the year icebreaker or as a brain break activity! In the first activity, Find Someone Who, students are given an activity board and ask each other the questions on the board. If someone asks Do you have a pet? and the responder says yes, then the responder would write their name or sign initials in that box. The goal is to get five signatures in a row and then a blackout once they've gotten five in a row!The second activity, Ice Breaker Would You Rather, includes a list of questions also in the form of cards that can also be used for brain breaks as well! You can even have students go to different sides of the room when each question is asked to get them up and moving around the classroom and use them as discussion starters for students in small groups or the whole class!
