<p>Carol Adams Karch 91, of Champaign died at 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at Bickford of Champaign.</p><p>Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 1st Presbyterian Church, Champaign with the Rev. Matt Matthews officiating, with a reception immediately following at the church. Morgan Memorial Home, Savoy is in charge of arrangements.</p><p>Carol was born January 27, 1932, in Chicago, a daughter of Dan and Ella Gauger Adams, the last born of their 10 children. She married Richard P. Karch on January 12, 1952, in Forest Park. She will be happily joining her husband who passed away on February 23, 2012. Surviving are a son Rick Karch, and his wife, Kathi and their children, Leslee Karch, and her son Brandon Heffernan, Abby Karch-Schwaiger and her husband Kevon, Adam and his wife, Lauren and their sons, Owen Henry and Aiden Edward of Champaign also survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Edith Frasca and her husband, Bob and his son, Jacob Joseph of Champaign; and Edith’s daughters, Christine Jakob and her husband, Jeff and their sons, Lincoln Michael and Emerson Flynn, of Joliet and Jessica Roberts and her husband, David and their daughter, Adalynn Jane and their son, Jaxson Asler of Philo, sister-in-law, Theresa Adams of Rockton, sister-in-law, Carole Adams of Western Springs, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and nine siblings. Carol loved family outings and family reunions. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Having a summer home at Bayles Lake in Loda for 29 years and spending time there with the family, grandchildren and friends at Bayles Lake was the highlight of many summers.</p><p>Carol graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School in Cicero in 1950 and had attended Parkland College while living in Champaign. Carol held various secretarial positions in Ferndale, Michigan. Champaign became home in 1967 when her husband Dick, accepted an administrative position with Parkland College, moving from Bay Village, Ohio. During this time Carol worked in the advertising department of The Courier, advertising manager for Hunter Real estate in Champaign before working part-time for the City of Champaign for fifteen years, having retired in 1996.</p><p>Athletics were foremost in Carol’s life, earning many athletic awards in high school and playing AA softball for Refiner’s Pride in the Northern Illinois Girls Basketball League and basketball for the Chicago Bloomer Girls. During her married life she also played softball and volleyball in Flint, Michigan. Always rooted for the CUBS!! Thank goodness she got to see them win a World Series! Carol started playing golf after retirement and fell in love with the game. Carol and her husband spent many winter months in Florida and many weeks at Hilton Head, South Carolina so Carol could play golf there. She was a member of Lake of the Woods Golf Association, Stone Creek Ladies Golf and the University of Illinois Ladies Golf Club. Volunteering included RSVP, Carle Auxiliary, Election Judge, and Friends of the Library. She loved playing Bridge and was a member of the Welcome Club Bridge Group and many other groups. Carol was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Champaign for over 50 years. She loved being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and will certainly be missed by all who knew her.</p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Parkland College Foundation or First Presbyterian Church of Champaign.</p><p>Condolences may be offered at .</p><p><br></p>
